What is it?
This is a unique event taking place around BG that combines rugby skills, fitness tests, and knowledge of the game. We have designed a 5 mile course around Bowling Green that gives you a scenic tour of the campus and town all while stopping at designated checkpoints that will test your fitness and tell some of the craziest stories about the history of the club. And when I say crazy, I mean crazy...one of them literally involves a plane crash on the field! The event starts and ends at the pitch and, afterwards, we'll be having a cookout while we watch (or play in) the normal alumni game. This event is just for fun so feel free to participate however you'd like. Want to ride a bike, go ahead...bear crawl just to challenge yourself (looking at you, Dlugosz), knock yourself out. We don't care how you get through the course, just that you come out and have a good time.

Why is it called the Ruck & Ruck?
Ruck has 2 meanings in this case, the obvious one is in reference to the sport, the other has to do with the military. Rucking involves wearing a weighted backpack to make a fitness event or challenge more difficult. In this case, we're suggesting anyone over 150lbs wears an additional 30lbs in their ruck and under 150lbs adds 15. This is just a suggestion, no one is required to wear a Ruck or extra weight. You can find out more about rucking by watching the intro video above featuring our own Chris "Skullz" Dlugosz.
Who is this for?
We've designed the event to be family friendly so it's great for Wives and Kids. There is no time limit to complete so you could even just slow walk the course if you'd like.
How much does it cost?
The entry fee is $50.00, but you get some cool swag along with your entry. Every paid participant takes home a Ruck & Ruck T-shirt, a Medal and a beer at Howards (21 and older, of course). 14 and under are free so feel free to bring the kids, they'll enjoy hearing about how crazy you were in college (purely by association, of course). You can purchase entries using the payment form on this page.
This sounds great, are there any sponsorship opportunities?
Well I'm glad you asked. We are offering opportunities to sponsor the event at the following levels:
- Event Level Sponsor (1 Available): $1000.00 - Your logo is basically everywhere; on every checkpoint poster, the largest logo on the t-shirt, the largest logo on the main banner, full page of the booklet and on the website. We'll also put a feature about your company on this page.
- Checkpoint Sponsor (5 Available): $200.00 - Your logo will be on one of the checkpoints, on the t-shirt, on the main banner and on the website.
- Website Sponsor (10 Available): $100.00 - Your logo will be on the website
